Lagos Travel Guide

INTRODUCTION:

Lagos is a Nigerian port and the largest metropolitan area. It is densely populated and is believed to be the second most populous city in the continent. Lagos is also the fastest growing city in Africa and is estimated to be the 7th fastest growing city in the world. This metropolitan port is often pronounced as Eko in the Yoruba language. Lagos is an important financial capital of Nigeria. It was once a capital city of Nigeria and was replaced by Abuja which today is the country’s capital. Lagos is basically a large conurbation built on several islands which were divided by creeks. One of these islands is known as Lagos Island which is the main island covered with larger metropolitan area. Lagos is divided into four islands which are Lagos Island, Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Iddo Island. This urban paradise has long been a tourist’s destination due to its wide offerings. The city incorporates the trendiest shopping malls, where families can enjoy shopping to the fullest. There are numerous exotic beaches where seashore admirers can have a refreshing time and, there are museums and art galleries which are perfectly maintained for true artists and art lovers. The city also has an international airport known as Murtala Muhammed International Airport that serves all cheap flights to Lagos. These flights are operated by all major airlines including British Airways, Air Nigeria, Kenya Airways, KLM and many more.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:

Lagos is indeed a tourist attraction and the most prominent Nigerian destination. Touring the suburbs of the city is an amazing thing to do as explorers get to know the African traditions blended with modernity. However, the beaches of the city are worth visiting and it is highly recommended to travelers to book Lagos flights in order to have a perfect Afro-beach experience.

Lagos Bar Beach:

This beach has long been known for its cleanliness and refreshing atmospheres. There are many bars lined on the beach as well. Lagos Bar Beach is the chief inner city beach and is incredibly famous amongst the beach goers.

National Theatre of Arts & Culture:

This venue is a host to many cultural events which are simply amazing to watch. The main auditorium in the complex has an ability to capacitate over 3,000 people. There is also a restaurant in the building where one can have a delectable meal and spending a calm time at the bar in the venue is a perfect thing to do as well. There is a conference hall in the building that can seat around 700 people. 

Eko Tourist Resort:

This is one of those beach resorts in the city where many tourists check in. Eko Tourist Resort comprises many restaurants and chalets and above all, an extensive clean sandy beach. One can also locate a conference hall that covers around 10 acres of the area. 

Havana:

This is a famous pub bar in the region which is highly appreciated by both locals and tourists. One can notice how vibrant the modern Nigerian lifestyles are at this happening venue. The bar is all about having fun and one gets surrounded by the moving yet inspiring rhythms which are played by the DJ throughout the night. Havana also offers delicious Nigerian as well as continental cuisines. Many famous bands and artists of the region perform on Wednesdays and Fridays at this famous pub bar.

1st Quarter:

In the month of January, the temperatures are at their highest at around 31 degrees Celsius during the day with an average precipitation of 28mm. During the nights, the temperatures drop at around 23 degrees Celsius. In February, the temperatures at their highest at around 32 degrees Celsius during the day while the temperatures drop to around 25 degrees Celsius during the nights. Weather in March has an average minimum temperature at around 26 degrees Celsius while the average high temperatures are around 32 degrees Celsius.

2nd Quarter:

In the month of April, the temperature can be as high as 32 degrees Celsius during the daytime and can be also low as 25 degrees Celsius as the sun sets. The average precipitation that the city receives during this time of the year is around 150 degrees Celsius. In May, the temperature can rise as high as 31 degrees Celsius during the day. However, nights hold a temperature at around 24 degrees Celsius in Lagos. Temperatures at their highest during the month of June are around 29 degrees Celsius and the lowest are around 23 degrees Celsius.

3rd Quarter:

The highest as well as the lowest temperatures during the months of July, August and September are almost equivalent. The highest temperatures during these times of the year are as high as 28 degrees Celsius, and are at their lowest at around 23 degrees Celsius. The average precipitation which the city receives during these months is around 483mm.

4th Quarter:

During the month of October, the highest temperature can be around 29 degrees Celsius during the day. At nights, the temperature can be as low as 23 degrees Celsius. In November and December, the highest temperatures are around 31 degrees Celsius and are at their lowest at 24 degrees Celsius.
