Save your hard earned money while flying to Accra

Recently there were rumors circulating around the world that the Ghana International Airlines is about to go bankrupt and that was probably the only way for getting cheap flights to Accra. These rumors have been converted into reality but it doesn’t mean that Accra flights can be booked on lower prices. Though, Ghana International Airlines was offering the cheapest rates and best quality to their passengers but still there are many other airlines that provide budget flights.  Most of the time travelers, by trusting the rumors, start booking tickets on far expensive flights but in general opinion paying extra 30 to 40 ponds for Airline Failure insurance, while booking ticket, is the best option. Through Airline Failure Insurance, passengers can refund their money in case of flight delay or cancellation.

There are plenty of ways through which a person can save his/her hard earned money and valuable time. First, travelers have to know in which season it is possible for them to travel? Often people suggest and think summer holidays or school holidays are the best time for them to travel abroad with their families. Not surprisingly those are the peek season and everybody wants to travel in summer holidays. The airlines companies are well aware of the peak travelling seasons so they increase the rates considering the high demand. In that case the best option for travelers is to book your flight 2-5 months ahead of time. There is a simple reason behind all this, it is the when the taxes are not very high and the surcharges haven’t been released so the travelers end up saving good chunk of money deals on the Accra flights, if timely reserved.  The second simple option is; buy tickets to Accra in other seasons than Eve or school holidays. In the months of January, February, October and November travelers can easily buy flights to Accra on cheap air fares.

Accra Beach Resort

The taxes are always included with the ticket fairs but it is never been mentioned directly, so, it’s really important for tourist to confirm all the hidden charges. Generally the airline offers prices as low as 179 GBP and when the taxes are included they reach up to 200 till 250 GBP. No one can get rid of taxes so the best thing is to check and search for the airline which pays least airport taxes. Now from all of the airlines, Emirates airport taxes with thickening reaches up to 90 GBP as compare to KLM, whose taxes sometimes reachesto 298 or 300 GBP to different destinations.

Emirates Airline

Another brilliant move for the travelers can be if they depart from the cheaper airports that could actually make them to save lot of money. For example, for most African countries best airport to travel from is Gatwick Airport, there are cheapest airlines like Afriqiyah Airways. Tourists travelling from London Heathrow Airport can get into the  Accra flights via Air France, KLM and Lufthansa.

The last advice will be to check all the travelling agencies proposals before making any decisions because there are some really good travelling agencies which offer you the best Accra Packages which sometimes includes accommodations and cab fairs as well.

Keep in mind all these options before deciding what airline you want to use to visit Accra, Ghana.

South African Football History

South Africa had been one of the most rejected of all African countries for many years. The country was boycotted and neglected worldwide and this mainly owed to its Apartheid based constitution. The Apartheid rule was totally biased towards white skin color and disgraced the black. Under the Apartheid rule, the black were not only sidelined but also deprived of their rights.

Following the happenings of this racist constitution, all the African countries, being black majority areas boycotted South Africa in every possible way. Flights to and from South African airports were totally banned and so was the trade with this country. The retaliation resulted in anger going so far ahead that South Africa flights were instructed to fly around the edges of the African continent and not over any country or the planes would be shot fired.

One major mishap of this Apartheid period was South Africa’s worldwide rejection from football community. South Africa was one of the first four African countries along with Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan to have attended the 1953 FIFA congress. Because of the meetings, these four countries won the demand to form a representative committee on behalf of FIFA. Following the congress, Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt and South Africa formed Confederation of African Football (CAF). Unluckily, this could not work for very long when in 1957, South Africa were banned from attending Africa Cup of Nations. This decision was made by other 3 members of the Confederation of African Football as South African constitution did not allow for mixed race team while an all-black or all-white team could not possibly be sent. This followed by South Africa’s formal suspension from CAF in1958. Afterwards, the country was given come time to design rules and regulations in accordance with non-discriminatory law of FIFA, which South Africa failed to do, and consequently it was suspended from FIFA. Stanley Rous, who had done a great deal of work to get South Africa into FIFA, was made the president of FIFA after some days. He argued that politics and FIFA should not be mixed up and brought back South Africa into FIFA in 1963.

This membership could not last very long when in 1964, the FIFA meeting held in Tokyo again suspended South Africa and formally expelled it in 1976. Hence, South Africa was permanently banned from all future football related activity including the World Cup. Stanley Rous threatened these decisions a lot but only in vein. With the end of Apartheid around 1991, not the demand of flights to South Africa increase but South Africa also developed one of the finest Football Associations around the world. The game is now popular around the country especially amongst the black community. South African Football Association now governs the country’s football with PSL being the ruling league. MTN 8, The Telkom Knockout, Telkom Charity Cup and NedBank Cup are the major domestic tournaments. On 7th July 1992, South resumed its football activity playing against and beating Cameron.

In 2004, the country won rights for hosting FIFA World Cup of 2010. Improving political scenario and economy has given South Africa a fine image around the globe. In addition, the country’s tourist attractions have constantly increased demand for cheap flights to South Africa. Since 1992, South Africa has been very active in football activities. The country hosted the 2009 FIFA Federations Cup and will host FIFA World Cup in July 2010. South African tourism board expects record breaking number of tourists to flock in and enjoy the matches in the grand host cities of South Africa.

Flying to Entebbe with British Airways

British Airways came into being in the year 1972 and is based in the city of London. Its main hub is London Heathrow Airport while the other two hubs include London Gatwick Airport and London City Airport. British Airways has the largest fleet size in Europe, offers most international flights and serves most international destinations in the whole of UK. It is one of the strongest and most developed airlines around the world and is continuously growing.

British Airways runs almost all over the world except Antarctica. The aircraft of British Airways are highly comfortable and have a safe history. Thus they make it a world class airline. This is one of the few European Airlines, which render the highest services to increase tourism in the African continent. Following a competition with Brussels Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, British Airways has now introduced cheap flights to Entebbe, Uganda with more frequency.

British Airways could have been far ahead of where it stands, but due to the control over fleet size, the airline had no aircraft to deploy to other parts of the world or offer flights that are more frequent. However, the airline has now managed to increase its flights to Entebbe from three to five. During the launch of these services, the General Manager of British Airways said that within the next few months, the airline shall be able to service this Ugandan city on daily basis due to the availability of more aircraft.

Up till now, the British Airways’ flights to Entebbe flew only during the early morning hours. As of now, for the ease of its passengers, the timing of flight has also been shifted to evening. Furthermore, within five weeks of this new service, the airline is expecting to see a reduction in ticket prices for Entebbe. This would be a promotional price and around $525. This would create a healthy competition for it competitors; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Brussels Airways.

As the company announced its new Entebbe services, they were not received with much of interest and appreciation. This was mainly due to Brussels Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines already servicing Entebbe very frequently and with low airfares. British Airways now plans to move further by offering more and more flights to the city and in ticket prices, lower than its competitors offer. This is expected to bring this airline into the limelight and make it the first choice of most travelers.

Unfortunately, British Airways is one of the few airlines whose growth relied on the Boeing 787 Dream Liner but since the program of these planes is two years behind schedule, the expansion plans of British Airline along with 39 other airlines has been jeopardized. The company, however, plans to increase its fleet by ordering much of Airbus planes. These also include twelve super-luxury liners, the Airbus A380s.

In spite of so many problems and restrictions, British Airways has maintained a good image by providing quality flights and services. The company has never served French-speaking parts of Africa in its entire history, but is now planning to deploy services in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a fine proof of British Airways’ day by day growth. For a safe flight to the beautiful and romantic city of Entebbe, fly with British Airways and experience a memorable journey.

Ghana International Airlines-An Inspiration for Airline Operators

2009 saw some of the worst times of aviation history due to world wide recession and inflation. Most of the airlines and airports were seen in chaos and confusion with travelers and tourists mostly disappointed. At many times, connecting flights were not found and the travelers had to return to their homes mid-way from their destination while at other times, the services paid for were never offered.

Increase in fuel prices increased expenses of airline operators while recession reduced passengers, thus airline business saw a great downfall. It is due to this that Belleview temporarily brought their operation to a halt around July. Also, in December the same year British Airways on a strike that caught the world’s eye. This turbulence in aviation scenario distracted a big proportion of travelers and tourists from flying.

A meeting was held in this regard in Kuala Lumpur in July 2009 where all these crises facing the airline industry were highlighted. It was, unfortunately, not fully successful but it is expected to bring many positive changes in the year 2010, despite the recession and inflation.

Even during these hard times, Ghana International Airlines continued its operation and services with peace. Also it was one of those few airlines that offered cheaper flights as opposed to EgytAir and Afriqiyah Airways, who although were popular as cheaper flights but were still more expensive than Ghana International Airlines. Also it was the same airline that offered the most flawless services and received the least amount of complaints. Thus, the meeting held at Kuala Lumpur highlighted the fact that if Ghana International Airlines continued to service the same way in December 2009 as well, it would be recognized and considered a healthy competition for all major airlines around the world. This ended the stereotypical hypothesis that Ghana International Airline would soon become bankrupt and will soon stop servicing.

The Kuala Lumpur conference is now proving to be fruitful in the year 2010 when cheap flights to Ghana are easily and widely available. These are, however, not as cheap as those of December 2009 but still gaining popularity as they cost much lower than the tickets of July 2009. Another reason for this popularity and success is that this unusual hike in prices is seen only during the high season of tourism while ticket fares to Ghana in lower seasons are pretty affordable.

For those who wish to fly to Ghana or often need to fly there, are advised to book their flights as early as possible. This greatly helps grab low-priced tickets. The success story of Ghana International Airlines has led travel operators around the globe to add Accra in their list of destination. So much so, that the leading South African tour operator, based in Johannesburg, has shown interest to open up Accra as well, in order to provide cheap flights to Accra in a more effective and efficient manner.

Thus from now onwards, flying to and from Ghana has become convenient and affordable for all. Hence, it has become easier to explore the beauty of Ghana hidden in the cities of Accra, Kumasi, Tamale and many other areas of the country.
